Workshop on Geographical Information Retrieval - in conjunction with the ACM Conference for Information Knowledge and Management in Bremen, Germany on November 4th 2005. This is a follow up to to the successful workshop held in conjunction with SIGIR 2004 in Sheffield, UK (see below). 30 June 2005 - Completion of SPIRIT and submission of the final results and deliverables.

15 - 17 November 2004 - SPIRIT Project was exhibited at the IST Event 2004 Exhibition in the Hague.(More information on the IST Event 2004 can be found here.)

Workshop on Geographical Information Retrieval @ ACM SIGIR 2004 - 29 July 2004

Workshop consisted of 15 short papers in 4 sessions entitled: GIR Systems, Problems in GIR, Extracting Geographic Information from unstructured text and test collections. Full programme, further information and abstracts for papers can be found here.
